چکیده
Aquaporins are a specific type of membrane channel proteins that efficiently transport water molecules and other small molecular substrates in plants. In this study, we isolated the plasma aquaporin gene EuPIP1;2 from Eucommia ulmoides, an important medicinal plant China. The protein was localized on membrane. Quantitative RT-PCR analysis revealed constitutively expressed all analyzed tissues, with highest expression levels detected fruit root. Overexpression transgenic tobacco enhanced tolerance drought salinity. Under salt stress, lines exhibited higher percentage germination, longer roots, survival compared wild-type contents malonaldehyde proline suggested improved by reducing damage to membranes improving osmotic adjustment. We predict could be applied improve

Overexpression of a wheat aquaporin gene, TaAQP8, enhances salt stress tolerance in transgenic tobacco.
Aquaporin (AQP) proteins have been shown to transport water and other small molecules through biological membranes, which is crucial for plants to combat salt stress. However, the precise role of AQP genes in salt stress response is not completely understood in plants. In this study, a PIP1 subgroup AQP gene, designated TaAQP8, was cloned and characterized from wheat. Transient expression of Ta...

Aquaporin (AQP) proteins have been shown to transport water and other small molecules through biological membranes, which is crucial for plants to combat stress caused by drought. However, the precise role of AQPs in drought stress response is not completely understood in plants. In this study, a PIP2 subgroup gene AQP, designated as TaAQP7, was cloned and characterized from wheat. Expression o...
متن کاملOverexpressing a putative aquaporin gene from wheat, TaNIP, enhances salt tolerance in transgenic Arabidopsis.
High soil salinity is a major abiotic stress in plant agriculture worldwide. Here, we report the characterization of a novel aquaporin gene TaNIP (Triticum asetivum L. nodulin 26-like intrinsic protein), which was involved in salt tolerance pathways in plants. TaNIP was identified and cloned through the gene chip expression analysis of a salt-tolerant wheat mutant RH8706-49 under salt stress. Q...
متن کاملAssessment of salt tolerance in transgenic tobacco (Nicotiana tobacum L.) plants expressing the AUX gene
Transformation of plants using Agrabacterium rhizogenes may affect secondary metabolite production as well as morphological changes. In this study, T-DNA from Ri plasmid in A. rhizogenes carrying pRi15834-PRT35S-GUS was introduced into tobacco leaf segments to initiate development of transformed hairy roots. Plant regeneration from transgenic roots used MS medium, and plants regenerated fro...
متن کاملGhSOS1, a plasma membrane Na+/H+ antiporter gene from upland cotton, enhances salt tolerance in transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana
Upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.), an important source of natural fiber, can tolerate relatively high salinity and drought stresses. In the present study, a plasma membrane Na+/H+ antiporter gene, GhSOS1, was cloned from a salt-tolerant genotype of G. hirsutum, Zhong 9807. The expression level of GhSOS1 in cotton roots was significantly upregulated in the presence of high concentrations of ...
